This was a comfort home style dish that my grandmother use to make. Its a very well known Cantonese dish, simple to make, and very tasty! The mustard greens compliment very well with the ground pork. I’ve tried this with hum yu (salted fish) and mui choy, all very traditional to this dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb of ground pork
- dash of soy sauce
- dash of sesame oil
- dash of Shao-hsing cooking wine
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tsp sugar
- some salt and white pepper
-1 tbsp of sliced ginger
- 1 cup of pickled mustard greens – finely chopped (soaked for 15 minutes)
Mix this up in a bowl and flatten mixture onto a plate. Steam this for 15-20 minutes until cooked (I placed mine in the rice cooker), chop up some green onions and throw it on top. These flavours brought back many childhood memories! super duper yum.
